Injections Q&A

What are Botox® injections?

Botox is known as a neuromodulator — a type of drug that eases muscular activity so the lines and wrinkles that appear when you smile, frown, or wince soften or disappear altogether.

Botox injections are quick and nearly painless. Your session is complete in about 10-20 minutes, and results start to appear within 48 hours. Full results show up after about 10 days.

You get wrinkle reduction for about 3-4 months, but maintain your youthful appearance by getting regular retreatments.

What are filler injections?

Dermal fillers contain ingredients that boost skin hydration to effectively plump the skin and erase wrinkles. If you have sunken cheeks or thinning lips, they also fill these areas in to give you a youthful roundness or pleasant lip pump.

The exact ingredients in fillers depend on the brand, but many contain hyaluronic acid. This natural compound your body plentifully produces in youth attracts water to the skin's surface. Your body produces less of it as you age, making skin age and sag. Dermal fillers replace hyaluronic acid stores to lift and hydrate your skin.

What types of concerns can Botox and filler injections treat?

Botox and fillers are the answer for a number of common aging complaints, including:

  • Crow’s feet

  • Horizontal forehead lines

  • Frown lines between the brows

  • Fat loss in the cheeks

The nutrient optimizes your fat-burning and metabolic capabilities. Plus, it delivers a dose of energy that helps you stay active as part of your weight-loss plan.

PRP

PRP Plasma Rich Platelets are autologous means they use your blood; therefore, it is free of disease transmission and no hypersensitivity, enhances healing, and new blood vessel formation, stimulates the dormant hair follicle, and reduces Inflammation.

Adding Micro-needling or FSR Procedure to PRP enhances the effect, induces Collagen Induction, and improves skin luminosity and tone.

PRP helps skin rejuvenation and antiaging, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, facial Rhytids, nasolabial folds and folds under the eyes, and reduces hyperpigmentation, Brown spots and age spots, and Acne Scars. PRP helps hair restoration and enhances wound healing.

PRP can be used as Filler to augment tissue, as it adds some volume and fills cheeks and lines around the mouth, lips, eyes and chin. This effect can be augmented with Microneedling. PRP creates new cells, and stimulates collagen production, which creates a longer-lasting effect.

As a result, trouble spots nearly disappear. Hyaluronic Acid – an incredible compound that is present in many different parts of the human body. From the fluid formed around the eyes and that found in our joints to the skin tissues – this substance plays a huge role in maintaining the organism well-hydrated and youthful. This botulinum toxin is subjected to purification and a few doses are applied in particular areas to get desired results in cosmetic such as to temporarily lessen the appearance of facial wrinkles and other therapeutical purposes as cervical dystonia, muscle spasm, Achilles's tendonitis, uncontrolled eye blinking and Chronic Migraine treatment. Botox for Migraine Botox injections for migraines cause an inhibition of the pain caused due to a chronic migraine through the reduction of the pain pathways where the nerve cells in the trigeminovascular system are involved. The trigeminovascular system includes a sensory pathway that plays a vital role during a headache arising out of a migraine attack. Details Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxinA) is an injectable neurotoxin that temporarily relaxes muscles to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles created by dynamic facial movements, such as smiling, frowning, or raising your eyebrows. It’s FDA-approved to treat moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines), but it’s commonly used off-label to treat everything from gummy smiles to boxy jawlines. Xeomin is also FDA-approved to treat neck pain caused by cervical dystonia, eye spasms known as blepharospasm, and upper limb spasticity. Xeomin injections require no downtime. Along with smoothing existing lines, it can help prevent new wrinkles from forming. It’s common for young people to get neurotoxin injections as a preventive measure, to keep lines from digging in or deepening. Xeomin can be used to shrink certain large muscles, like the masseters (chewing muscles), over time. The effect is both functional—a reduction in painful clenching and grinding—and cosmetic. It’s safe for all skin types and tones. Effects are temporary, so if the results are not optimal, the client is not stuck with them—they’ll gradually disappear over about four months. The most common side effects of Xeomin—injection site bruising, swelling, soreness, and short-term headaches—are minor and transient. Botox or xeomin is a proven and popular cosmetic treatment that is used to treat fine lines and wrinkles, primarily on and around the face. Botox® is the trade name of Botulinum Toxin Type A. This is a purified toxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum and is used in very small doses to treat the signs of aging via injections into the skin. Common treatment areas for Botox or Xeomin include Fine Lines & Facial Wrinkles around the glabella and forehead, Wrinkles around the Eyes, often known as ‘Crows Feet’, Non-Surgical Jaw Reduction, Visible Platysmal Neck Bands, Lip Fullness and DAO’s for correcting Frown Lines around the Mouth area Fine Lines and Wrinkles One of the most common treatment areas for Botox or Xeomin is to target fine lines and wrinkles in the face, such as in the forehead or between the eyebrows. These lines and wrinkles are caused by daily repeated contractions and movement of the facial muscles and get deeper as a person ages. Botox or Xeomin is injected into the problem area and works by freezing the associated muscles and stopping them from contracting, which reduces the ability of the skin to visibly wrinkle. Wrinkles around the Eyes “Crow’s Feet” “Crow’s Feet” is the name given to the dynamic lines which show at the side of the eyes when frowning, squinting or smiling. Over time as a person ages the elastin and collagen in the skin loses its elasticity and this causes wrinkles. The good news is that Crow’s Feet can be treated with Botox or Xeomin – which in fact is currently the only treatment option that has been approved by the FDA as a temporary solution for this area. Botox or Xeomin will reduce these wrinkles around the eyes for up to 4 months. Non-Surgical Jaw Reduction: One area that some individuals are concerned about is a square or rounded jaw line. Both men and women occasionally look for a way to treat this area and to make their face look a little more V-shaped. The good news is that Botox can be used to make this problem area appear slimmer and although the effects are temporary it does offer a fantastic alternative for those who wish to avoid a surgical procedure. This procedure is known as Botox square jaw reduction or “Botox Masseter reduction” and it targets the masseter muscles on the side of the jawline. Visible Neck Bands Some sagging, wrinkles and lines can appear with aging and the appearance of neck bands, cords, or the vertical lines that appear in the aging neck. In these instances, Botox or Xeomin is a great treatment for reducing their appearance. Many other areas are treated with Botox or Xeomin to reduce wrinkles.
